A 2 session ceramic workshop to design and make to completion a hand-made ceramic piece

• 2 sessions - Professional Development certificate can be digitally emailed to you if required

• All materials included - You have the luxury to choose either stoneware OR terracotta to hand build your piece with. You also have the luxury in Day 2 to choose either underglazes OR gloss glazes to decorate your piece. My bespoke take home bound booklet including detailed notes & images with room for your sketch designs and notetaking is provided. A deliciously pampering morning tea of Mornington Peninsula produce for you to graze on during each day is provided.

Day 1 Making

10.00am - 3.00pm

Students will design and make to completion a hand-built ceramic piece of your choosing (sculptural or functional or both) celebrating the texture and 3D form of the medium’s possibilities. It will then need to dry and be fired over a couple of weeks before your second workshop.

• You have the luxury to choose either stoneware OR a terracotta clay body to hand build your piece with. (This is a rare bonus compared to other courses)

Day 2 Glazing

11.00am - 2.00pm

Students will learn about the difference between glaze options of either underglazes OR gloss glazes for their work. Your piece will then be fired again after the class and we will be in contact with you when it is ready for collection within three weeks. (This is due to 2 firings and cool down times after each one. Larger items of varying thicknesses require more care & time to dry to avoid cracks)
